 DESCRIPTION

Ambience is a Visco-Elastic Noise-Damping Compound which comes as water-miscible powder. Ambience imparts properties of transient absorption, vibration damping and a shift in dominant natural (resonant) frequency of a substrate material. The product provides a means for improving effective resultant noise transmission loss. The product should normally be applied at a minimum wet thickness of 2mm. The performance of the product varies with thickness.

Ambience is a versatile product that can be used universally as an overlay, an underlay or as a sandwich layer. Ambience can be coated or sprayed on both smooth or irregular surfaces. Method of Application

A whole pack is to be prepared at a time. Add water to get a workable pasty consistency, lay and spread to desired thickness. Polish with trowel. It can also be applied as a high-build coating by mixing into paint of Elastomeric Acrylic base. It is applied either by using Trowel, or with airless spray equipment, on a properly cleaned substrate. It is suggested to be protected from direct exposure of frost.

APPLICATION

 Mix water slowly to get sticky slurry or paste of required consistency. For best result pour out full pack. Ensure clean laitance free adjoining surfaces. If required, clean suitably before application. For fixing Tiles apply at least 5 dots – each about 2 cc of prepared paste  per sq. ft area. For very smooth surfaces apply thin coated layer, using knife, on both surfaces to be joined. On vertical surfaces provide support for minimum 12 hours, or as found suitable on a trial.

APPLICATION

Surface Preparation

Clean surface of contaminants, old paint, loose particles and oil/grease by sanding and cleaning.

Laying & Applying

Take the paste direct from container and use. Apply the paste as glue, along the crack, using a 3” knife or spatula. Immediately paste the tape neatly & securely along the cracks and instantly overcoat for full wetting. Avoid voids & folds. No overlap required. Always clean up adjacent surfaces immediately when applying, by scrapping off spills/deposits with same application knife. After one hour apply another tight coat and leave to dry & shrink overnight. Apply a final coat similarly. The repair will automatically assume a thickness of about 1mm from original surface level. Now level out at same thickness matching the 1mm raised repairs – using about 1mm thick film coat of ordinary white- cement based powder wall putty. Make no build up thickness over & above the treatment lines but ensure a smooth & seamlessly plain level. Allow overnight drying & shrinkage of wall putty leveling course. Repeat same wall putty to touch up for finely leveled overall surface. After sanding the whole surface should be perfectly smooth & plain, while at the same time the treatment MUST be optically visible. After minimum 4 hours from last wallputty film coat, apply two coats of UNDILUTED primer with woolen roller at 2 hours interval. This will hide the visible repair lines. Finally apply 1-2 coats primer on whole surface before applying paint as desired.

DESCRIPTION

Defigo is a unique water-miscible powder saturator to seal and render smooth seamless finish at joints of fiber cement or such other cladding boards in interior applications. It sets quickly to a strong but flexible mass. It offers an excellent surface-finish that can take any paint system readily. Defigo fuses a formidable combination of Elasticity, Bond strength and Tensile Strength. The bond strength matches that of many commercial adhesives. This seamless jointing system also needs Plexus non-woven Tape as an essential part of the system.

SEAMLESS JOINTING & FINISHING METHOD

   Preparation of joints: Square-edge Boards should be properly installed and tightly fastened – as per manufacturers’ recommendations – with a   gap of 2-3mm between adjacent boards. Edges must be free from dirt, lumps, dust, laitance and oily substances, while grooves must be clear.

 Preparation of Compound: A thick paste of suitable workability is obtained by mixing minimal water in Defigo powder. Check appropriate workability by non-flow low-sag viscosity. During application, dehydrated water may be periodically replenished to maintain working viscosity. Excess water not recommended to avoid undesired repeat coat.

 Application in Cement Board Seamless Jointing:

 Method (A) – when whole surface is to be finished with wall-putty prior to flat painting:

 Defigo is applied in 4 effortless steps, namely:

  STEP-1 :   Filling groove (gap).

STEP-2 :  Taping with Plexus gap bridging tape.

STEP-3 :  Shrink compensation skim-coat.

STEP-4:   Finishing Leveler-coat with ordinary Wall-putty. Allow overnight (minimum 2-3 hours) shrinkage time before

                   Step -3 dry – can be amended any time before next work. The final finish would be a 30-40mm wide joint raised

up about 0.5 mm from board in the middle. Apply a skim coat wallputty – at about 0.5mm thickness – duly

matching the joint height so as to get a perfect zero-zero Level-5 overall finish. Start wall putty application from

each joint and come inside to level out – and continue so on. While wiping with putty knife, scrap all material from

over the joint line, so that sides are automatically filled while no appreciable putty remains on the joint. Video clip

is available on demand for total application process training. Sand with fine sandpaper. For Level-5 finish, a recoat

of thin wall-putty may be often required. After final finish obtained, joint lines will appear visible but seamlessly

leveled out. Apply 2 undiluted primer coats to cover joint to cover visibility. Now go on to apply any desired

primer and paint.

     Method (B) – when the joints will be covered with tiles etc and no wall-putty will be used:  Only STEP-1 & 2 will be

adequate.

     Method (C)- when the joints will be painted straight-on but no wall-putty will be used: Obviously this is not for Level-5

finish. Use same process as Method (A) for joints and feather out the wall-putty on each sides of each joint line

by about 4”-8”. Sand to get desired finish & paint as said.

   Tools: No special tool necessary. Laying and Application should be done with a flexible knife packed inside each sack.

   Recommended Finish Paint System: Defigo is perfectly compatible with any kind of finish paint. However,

     even though an Defigo  joint shall remain enduringly crack-free – due to inherent properties conducive to

develop visual hair-cracks – thick cement-based paint systems like Rendering or Texture Coats may be avoided

as normal good practice. Any normal flat & thin-coat paint system may be preferred instead.

     Common Do’s and Don’ts :

  • Not designed for use in exposed exteriors.
  • Use as supplied – Add only minimally required water. Do not use any oil or thinner for dilution.
  • Do not store in moist place or at freezing temperature.

APPLICATION                                                                                              

 Surface and Pre-treatment:

 General Requirements:

The surface must be clean, dry, solid, coatable and free of efflorescing salts. Suitable for porous, absorbent to water-repellent mineral surfaces. Check new plasters for dryness and stability. Carefully touch up open spaces and flaws to match style and structure. Coat repaired surfaces with Flemgard Quartz Filler (auxiliary product).

 Suitable surfaces & Pre-treatments:

Lime plaster (PIc), Lime based cement plaster (PII), Cement plaster (PIII): Use Flemgard Etching Fluid for removing sinterskin from new plasters and for cleaning old plasters. Thin Flemgard Etching Fluid with 3 to 5 parts water, apply by brush and after a few minutes carefully rinse with plenty of water.

Absorbent plasters must be prefixated with Flemgard Fixative thinned with 2 parts water. Superficially crumbly or sanding, but recoatable plasters should be solidified by flow coating several times to saturation.

CEMENT BOARDS: for new & bare fresh cement boards, scantily paint directly without lap – and even out with roller. Avoid overlaps during application. For old painted cement board surfaces, strip paint and pre-coat with Flemgard Bond Coat.

Natural stone / brick: Clean with high pressure and check for recoatability, absorbency and efflorescences (e.g. salt marks). Repair crumbly stones and joints. Prefixate or flow coat weakly efflorescing surfaces with Flemgard Silane Primer to saturation.

Lime sandstone, Aerated concrete: Check and clean, then flow coat with Flemgard Silane Prime (indoors with Flemgard Insulating Primer). For aerated concrete use Flemgard Quartz Filler as a base coat.

Chalking Silicate and Lime coatings:

After high-pressure cleaning and brushing, solidify with Flemgard Fixative thinned with 2 parts water. Strip or blast old artificial resin based coatings down to the pores. Further treatment, if any, with  Flemgard Bond Coat or  Flemgard Quartz Filler.

 Processing & Application:

There will be heavy and tight sedimentation in sealed packs. Carefully stir up Flemgard CI 14 to a homogenous slurry before every pour and use. Thus application vessel or pot should be suitably agitated during application.

For use as a base coat, thin Flemgard Cl-14  with 10 to 20% Flemgard Fixative. Top coat no sooner than 12 hours later, thinned with max. 5% Flemgard Fixative. Apply crosswise sparingly, evenly, and lap-free – with a nylon paint brush, a lambskin roller or by spray gun.

SPECIAL CAUTION: Take care to scantily paint without lap – and even out with roller – because overlaps will be visible due to silicification. Treat adjacent surfaces all at once. Avoid dry seams. In case of high surface saturation, thin the top coat with abt. 5% water instead of using Flemgard Fixative for diluting.

Use on prepared surface only, e.g. etched and pre-fixated new plaster.

OPTIONAL RECOMMENDATION:

A subsequent post-installation hydrophobic treatment is recommended outdoors for aesthetic and economical reasons especially for high-quality building materials and in case of increased rain and dirt loads. Has proven to reduce the absorption of water and noxious substances long-term while maintaining the diffusion capacity [W•sd < 0.005 kg/(mh1/2)]. Through optimum building protection, including an excellent water-repellent effect, it keeps the coating attractive for a long time and significantly prolongs renovation intervals while increasing the aesthetic and economical value of any real estate.

Flemgard  Etching Fluid for removal of sinter skin from new plasters and for cleaning old plasters.

Flemgard Quartz Filler P fiber-reinforced slurry powder additive for grain-enriched base and intermediate coats. Mix 1 container Flemgard CI 14 of 12.5 Ltr.  with 4 Kg Flemgard Quartz Filler Powder and thin with approx. 2 to 4 kg Flemgard Fixative. Apply evenly with a mineral paint brush.

Flemgard Quartz Filler silicate based, fiber-reinforced slurry base coat for covering hair cracks and  minor  structural deficiencies. Non-film forming and extremely long-lasting. Apply by brush.

APPLICATION                                                                                              

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be treated should be sound, clean, and free from dust, dirt, laitance, oil and other contaminants. All laitance must be removed by vacuum grit blasting, ensuring that any residual dust is removed. New concrete surfaces should be a minimum of 21 days old and/or have residual moisture content below 5%. Steel substrates shall be grit blasted to Sa 2.5 Swedish standard, and degreased using Epoxy Thinner.

Priming

Prime the prepared surfaces using Metagard FWP Primer applied at a nominal rate of 5-8 sqm/Kg in 1 or 2 coats. Allow the primer to get hard-tacky. If the surface is exceptionally porous and priming looks uneven, it may be necessary to re-prime’. Do not allow pooling of Primer.

Mixing

Floroscreed ESL supplied as a three component product, each component being pre-weighed ready for use. The contents of the Curing Agent container should be drained into the Base component and the two materials thoroughly mixed. The mixed liquid should then be poured into a forced action mixer, e.g. Mixall, Pennine, or Cretangle or Slow Speed Drill fit with a Spiral Mixer Blade and the Aggregate component slowly added under constant mixing until a uniform consistency has been achieved.

Laying

Apply the mixed Floroscreed ESL by serrated trowel or screed box. Within 20 minutes, spike-roll the Floroscreed ESL in order to de-aerate it. Existing joints in the floor must be carried through the screed.

Equipment Cleaning: Clean all equipment, immediately after use, with Epoxy/NC Thinner.

Curing: Allow a minimum cure time of 24 hours at 20oC prior to light foot traffic, 48 hours cure at 20oC prior to full vehicular access, and 7 days cure at 20oC prior to exposure to chemicals. NOTE: At higher temperatures the above cure times will be reduced, at lower temperatures they will be increased.

SHELF LIFE

Best before 12 months when stored in original, unopened containers. Store in dry conditions, away from direct sunlight at temperatures between 10oC and 25oC.

HANDLING PRECAUTION

Avoid contact of the material with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate gloves, overalls and eye protection during use. Wash off with soap and water if the material comes in to contact with the skin. Kemoline A is a 100% solid unique blend of polymers with an epoxy novolac base. The system consists of a two component resin binder and graded aggregate system.

USES

The primary use of Kemoline A is as a high strength floor topping for industrial service where extreme corrosive chemical exposure, severe mechanical abuse is anticipated. It also possess good heat resistance.

Typical applications comprises Process floors, Containment Basins, Trenches, Sumps, Tank Base & Walls & Grease Traps. Recommended for areas in general, where harsh chemicals are used or spilled.

ADVANTAGES

Kemoline A is a 100% solids system and allows for a fast application where outstanding chemical and wear resistance are required. Kemoline A can be installed over most sound floors including old or new concrete and most types of repair mortars. At varying thicknesses up to 1/4 inches, the Kemoline A system provides long term chemical resistance for splash and spill, or immersion service in many chemicals. APPLICATION                                                                                              

Surface Preparation

NEW CONCRETE: The concrete should be well cured for a minimum of 10 (ten) days, per ACI 308-81, (R-1986), clean, dust free and free of all contaminants. Mechanical methods such as sandblasting, scarifying, or shot blasting should be employed to remove the weak layer of surface laitance. A minimum tensile strength of 200 psi is required of the prepared surface. Etching with muriatic acid is acceptable but less desirable. Care must be taken to completely remove all residual acid prior to the application of Kemoline A.

EXISTING CONCRETE: Concrete must be structurally sound and free of all contaminants. Weak or contaminated concrete must be removed until sound concrete is realized. Old coatings, toppings, waxes, oils, etc. must be removed prior to the application of  Kemoline A .

Mixing & Preparation

Prior to application of Kemoline A , the substrate should be between  65F  to 90 0 F.  In order to maintain a clean mixer from batch to batch, the Resin (Component  A) and a portion of the Aggregate (Component C) should be added to the mixer and agitated long enough to clean the blades. Add the Hardener (Component B) only when the batch is ready to be applied. Mix for minimum 1 minute, then add the remainder of the silica and mix for another 2 minutes at slow speed. Pour immediately onto the floor.

A self-leveling tendency will be noticed after the material has been poured on the surface to be coated, however some assistance is required in order to achieve the specified thickness. Conventional hand-toweling and screed raking are the two recommended methods of application. Screed raking is generally preferred because of the uniformity in thickness that can be achieved. A silica broadcast is required for proper filling of the system and for skid resistance. The surface should be saturated and the excess removed after the material has set.

Applying

Applied by trowel or screed-rake typically between 1 – 6 mm thicknesses in a one coat application including broadcast. Normally there is no need for a primer or sealer coat. Optional glaze coat may be used to improve the appearance. Vertical formulation of Kemoline A is trowel applied at 1-3 mm thickness per coat. Application thickness may vary depending on the expected service conditions. Factors to consider are length of chemical exposure (e.g., immersion vs. splash/spill), mechanical abuses (e.g., tow traffic, loaded trucks vs. cart and foot traffic, etc.)

NOTE

  • Kemoline A should be stored at 50-90oF out of direct sunlight. All containers should remain unopened until ready for use. If stored as set out above.
  • All mixing and application equipment should be cleaned immediately after use. If this is done, soap and  water, or biodegradable cleaners can be used. If the material has begun to set, more aggressive solvents will be necessary. Before using solvents, refer to their respective MSDS for handling considerations.
  • Where heavy chemical abuses are anticipated, longer cure times may be required.

Curing Time:

The curing time of Kemoline A and other resinous systems are very dependent upon the temperature of the substrate. The ambient temperature may not be the same as the substrate temperature. For example during winter, concrete may be colder than the surrounding ambient temperature. As temperatures during the day may increase, large masses of concrete will be much slower to react. During summer days direct sunlight will increase the concrete temperature over that of ambient air. The substrate temperature should be maintained at or above 18o C.

DESCRIPTION

Metabond PA is a two component, solvent free thin-film bonding compound comprising pre-weighed Resin (Component A) and Hardener (Component B).

USES

Metabond PA is used as follows:

  • For bonding new Cementitious material to existing or old cured Cementitious surfaces.
  • For bonding Cement/Calcite Boards/Panels directly on structural steel beams in Steel-house PEB.
  • For bonding new and heavy Tiles & Stones on vertical walls.
  • For bonding steel to blast-cleaned steel or sound concrete.
  • For joining glass-to-glass in interiors.

APPLICATION                                                                                              

Metabond PA is a thin-film Adhesive. In case higher build-up or filling required, the Component C  is used to get required viscosity. For preparing filling or forming, further add sand/quartz for required mortar/putty consistency.

Mix Part-A & Part-B as directed (for Pre-batched Bulk Packing) or as supplied (for Pre-batched Unit Packing) in a clean pot. Always use separate set of tools for pouring from the containers. Stir with a 3rd tool until a homogenous paste is obtained. Preferably mix by power-stirring at low speed.

When required add additional Silica Powder/Quartz sand and continue slow-speed stirring just as much needed, for desired workability for required application thickness. Apply on both tile/stone and base surface by a flexible knife or any suitable hand-tool as per spread mentioned. In cold weather allow mature for about 10-20 minutes or until medium-hard tacky. Then install conveniently and secure with suitable support for at least 6 hours. Do not apply when surface temperature is below 40 C, if so the surface should be heated with hot-air blower.

Metagard RZP 70 is an excellent anticorrosive epoxy primer with zinc phosphate pigment designed for protection of steel structures exposed to highly corrosive environment. It can be over-coated with a wide range of top coats.

APPLICATION                                                                                              

Surface Preparation

Remove grease, oil, contaminants. Accumulated dirt and soluble salts should be removed by washing with fresh water. Blast-Clean to SP-10 grade of SSPC specification. If blast cleaning is not possible, remove loose rust and scale by using suitable power tool / hand Tool to achieve surface cleaning to a minimum of SP-3 grade of SSPC specification. Polishing of steel is to be avoided. Surface should be perfectly clean and dry before application of primer.

Method of application

Notes:

  1. Do not apply when temperature falls below 10 0 C or rises above 500 C and when Relative Humidity rises above 85% also, do not apply during rain, fog or mist.

  1. Thinning up to 5 to 10% may be necessary depending on site condition. Use of thinner other than approved or supplied by may adversely affect product performance and void product warranty.
  1. Primed surface should be over coated with appropriate finish coat within specified over coating interval.

APPLICATION                                                                                              

Surface Preparation

Surface must be clean, reasonably sound and completely free from oil/grease/paint and other barriers/contaminants. Roughen very smooth surfaces by any suitable abrasive method manually.

Preparation

Unless entire pack is prepared at a time, always mix the powder manually before pouring from packet. Add around 25% (by volume) fresh water – or more as required – in Multik QRF powder to prepare a homogenous slump free paste of any required workability. Increase water as required for increased slump.

Applying

In putty consistency (25% water added): Lay and apply with hand/trowel pressure and gradually spread with trowel pressure to required thickness. Immediately mould or form to desired shape if applicable. Next day sand and paint over.

DESCRIPTION

V-Crete H is a High solid High Elastomeric UV resistant Styrene-Acrylic Polymer Latex. Unlike ordinary Acrylic Emulsions, V-Crete H contains special polymeric modifications and double layer molecular chemistry. The resulting special properties include extremely high flexibility, stability with high solid content, retained elasticity and aging resistance.
